This is the floor plan for a 2012, but it is the same as our 2007 210 Popular Roadtrek. We use the bed in the back and the table in the front. We make the bed up so it takes up the whole back and measures 80 x 80. It's wider than our queen bed at home. The electric sofa makes it rather easy to set up. The larger bathroom, shower and sink are a big plus for this 22 ft unit. Our has an electric sofa that turn the whole back area into one large bed measuring 80 x 80. One of the things that I appreciate about Roadtreks is the choice of materials on the inside. It has nice fabrics and textures without those awful border prints and hard surface walls that Winnebago and other use. The Roadtrek is simple and neutral can add what I want to make it our own. We have stainless steel around the stove which reminds people of the airstream furnishings. We felt right at home when we first saw it. |
Here's our "new to us" camper. We bought this after owning a 29 ft Class C years ago.
We LOVE driving this and parking this smaller camper/van!! when we had the larger one always felt like a wild beast I needed to hold on to to keep on the road. Not now... this is more like a mini van. This has everything we need inside and actually more kitchen work space than our 29 ft RV (this is 22 ft).
We have enough room for us to take what we need and lot of what we want. Keeping it simple and not filling it up with stuff makes the traveling easier. For a number of years we have been trying to simplify our lives at home and not consume as so this fits in perfectly.
It's a 2007 Roadtrek 210 Popular. It has a three captain chairs, electric sofa that turns into a queen bed, bathroom, wet shower, sink, kitchen sink, hot water heater, 2 burner stove, 6 cu. ft refrigerator, microwave/convection oven (I don't even have a convection oven at home, but love it when camping), flat screen TV, blue ray player and Trac Vision Satellite with Direct TV service. Two of the seat swivel around to face table.
It also has a generator, two marine batteries for the "house" part of the vehicle, air conditioning and heater in cab, furnace in mid section and heat pump/air conditioner in back above bed and an XM Radio that I have not used yet. It looks like we could hook up our iPhone, but it doesn't seem to work on our model when I plug it into the little white Apple cord. The radio is so complicated with dozens of features that we had to read the manual to figure out how to turn it off! Obviously this would not have been my choice of audio equipment, but then again we will learn to love and appreciate it. We mostly listen to books on tape while doing road trips. I have used Audible.com for years and now have over 500 books in my library. I put books on an iPod Nano and then use a splitter to allow us to both listen with one ear bud (that's legal with one ear free). I like it better than the radio which has to be very loud to have same clarity. We bring along a GPS unit and I've seen the Audible.com feature in their manual. We call the GPS "AJ" since she is known as the version of English known as American Jill. AJ is not always right but it's good to have another reference and guide. It is useful for all sorts of things, but it is also now always correct .... just at the navigation maps are not perfect yet. We like having her along so far and think once we get out of state it will be even more helpful.
We recently installed a back up camera that turns on with a switch on the dash. We can now turn it on while driving or we can turn it on while parked and easily see what is happening at night since it has night vision.
There is an awning that cranks out from the passenger side. We used this a bit in Joshua Tree when it was warm. It was surprising how cool the shady side of the rig remained. It has two water tanks. One is outside and one is inside to use in freezing weather. It can hold 30 gallons of water has two waste tanks. As well as storage cabinets and drawers it has some outside storage bins and there is storage behind the electric sofa.
Table is in out position. We can spin around the front two seats to face the table. We usually eat here by the door so we can see all around us.
Front table is push in
The interior is night and bright. It has windows above and mirrors that reflect the light. Great design.
My friend said it was "nice appointed" and she is right. Real wood cabinet doors, nice fabric, soft ceiling in light finish and great lighting and speaker system.

That's the bathroom/shower behind the seat Air conditioning and storage above sofa in back
Refrigerator is 6 cu ft and has freezer. It works great! We have a remote sensor on the dash so we can check temp without opening it.
We use a little fan inside to help keep temperature even. It makes and keeps ice. We haven't taken it out in hot weather and I imagine that's a different story.
It can be run by AC, DV, Gas (propane) or auto. We have heard that it is not good to drive with propane on so we turn it off and use auto. When dry camping it needs to be on propane or battery will run down. When we have an electrical hook up at a campsite we switch to DC

The TV swivels around so it can be watched from the front as well.
I am not quite sure about the heat from the convection oven and the TV equipment in the cabinet above, but time will tell.

We now have the satellite dish hooked up on the roof so we can watch Direct TV. When we were at Joshua Tree National Forest we were able to watch the presidential debates in the desert while running our generator.
Control panel above left. We can see the propane gas level, the levels in the two water tanks, the levels in the two waste tanks (one does not seem to work well, but we can gauge) and the battery level. We also turn on the inverter here, turn on the generator, see number of hours the generator has run in its lifetime, turn on hot water heater and water pump. There is also the fuse box below.
Never having to go outside to turn on the generator in the cold rain is a big plus!!
Flush toilet with leg room and sink in bathroom. This is not often seen in a 22 ft camper. It sold us.
Shower head is above and the the right. There is also an option to shower in the isle but we have a rug there and with a game plan this will work. Some on the Roadtrek group gave detailed instructions how a 6 ft person could shower in this and clean up afterwards.
